Planning With Love
Song of Solomon 2: 1-7
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.”
Song of Solomon 2:4
Tyler and Michelle Turk, a young couple, couldn’t find time to do things together. “We placed the romance on hold because of life and all its obligations,” Tyler told the Fresno Bee. But they determined to set aside a monthly “date night” to invest time in each other, and, Tyler said, “Our relationship and marriage became much stronger.” Now the Turks have started a commercial business devoted to helping couples plan their monthly date nights.
We could all use a little outside help. But with just a bit of time and attention we can plan unique and fun dates with our spouse. Newspapers are full of community events, and there’s no end to restaurants, picnic spots, or activities that fit any budget or schedule. Walks in the park are free. Drives through the countryside cost nothing more than the cost of gasoline. And a pizzeria can be as much fun as a five-star restaurant. It just takes a bit of planning—with love. It’s tragic when a spouse feels unloved in marriage. Loneliness sets in, creating disappointment and strife. Don’t let that happen to you. Husbands and wives need quality time showing each other how much they love one another.
So get busy planning your next date!
A point to ponder…
